It has been over 35 years since AIDS first appeared as an emerging ​disease. In those years, more than 30 million people have died from HIV related illnesses. Over 35 million people world wide are currently infected and transmission rates are on the rise among young people ages 13-24 and communities of color. ​For the past 30 years, AIDS Walk Austin has been uniting the Central Texas community in this meaningful fight, but the fight is not over. We walk because there is still no cure and there are still people in need, but we can make a difference if we come together.
