First Baptist Church-West is the oldest Black Baptist church in Charlotte, NC, located five minutes west of downtown at 1801 Oaklawn Ave. The senior minister is Dr. Ricky A. Woods. FBC-W offers two worship services at 8 am and ll am (except for fifth Sunday when we have a combined service at 9am). We also offer an afterschool and summer institute program for students, as well as numerous ministries. Our church motto is Making First Thing First.
