노동자의 책은 70~90년대 반독재 민주화투쟁 및 노동운동의 정치사상적 배경이 되었던 인문사회과학 도서들을 데이타베이스화 하고 더 나아가 10대 청소년부터 40-50대에 이르는 폭넓은 사회계층에서 인문사회과학적 지식과 교양을 손쉽게 접할 수 있도록 정보와 자료를 제공하고 교환하는 역할을 담당하고자 한다. 비판적,변혁적 인문사회과학이 과거의 기억이 아닌 현실의 관심사가 되도록 활동하며 자유롭게 소통하고 필요한 자료나 정보를 손쉽게 얻고 교환할 수 있는 베이스캠프의 역할을 담당하고자 한다.
