The Lincoln Heritage Water Trail Association is a group of individuals and organizations in Illinois dedicated to preserving the natural heritage of the Sangamon River and enable visitors to travel the river that led Abraham Lincoln to settle in New Salem. It is now a State Park that bears his name in central Illinois, just two miles from historic Petersburg, a town surveyed by Lincoln during his time at New Salem.
