I fell in love with photography at age 15 when I got my first SLR camera for Christmas back in 1983. I wanted to be a National Geographic photographer but photography school was too expensive so I never pursued it professionally. In my 20's, I didn't have time to do much photography due to... well, life. At around age 32 I decided I wanted to be happy, finally, and I wanted to take control of my life instead of being controlled by my job. So I started getting back into my photography and practicing and shooting and reading everything I could get my hands on and teaching myself how to be a better photographer. So at age 34 I started my photography business. This was in 2002 about 6 months after 9/11. Probably not the best time to start a business, but for me it was now or never. It was the best decision I have ever made in my life! I put everything I had into it with the attitude that "I will make this happen!" Failure was not an option. To my surprise... three years later, I was shooting 50 weddings a year. The best part... I am happy! I love what I do, I love my life... What could be better than that? About My Photography I don't like to label my style of photography. I just go with what I am feeling from the bride and groom and what I am feeling from the wedding location. The light, the colors, the textures all play a part in how I shoot. I bring a relaxed, fun and confident attitude to my shoots. I get told by my clients that I am a joy to work with and I make them feel very comfortable in front of the camera. I get people at my weddings telling me, "Dude, your an awesome photographer!" I'm like, "You haven't even seen the pictures yet." "Don't need to. I can just tell by watching you that you're an awesome photographer. You never miss anything. You're just right on it." My passion...is to capture expressions and emotion in my photographs. I have been fascinated with photography since I was in grade school. I was always the one with the camera, getting great action and group shots. I never went anywhere without my camera and, everyone has ALWAYS depended on me to capture the memories of every event. Through the years, I have long considered photography as just simply an enthusiastic hobby, however, it became more intensified upon the birth of my child. Now, I never put the camera down. It wasn't until 8 years ago when the company I worked for, for 22 years, sold. Everyone told me that this was the time for me to pursue my dreams, and now I am. I started shooting weddings and quickly found out how much I love taking candids and getting people's expressions. Most of the time, I don't want my subjects to pose. I love to capture them in the moment. I have recently been shooting local sport tournaments and can I tell you how awesome action photography is for me. I was recently told by a mom that it is amazing how I capture the personality of a child as if I've photgraphed them for years, when in fact I just meet them. That is why I love to do what I do. I am a perfectionist in everything that I do. My goal is to be at the right place at the right time and to get that hard to get shot. I want to see excitement and joy in people's faces when they see the pictures that I have taken of their families and friends. A NOTE FROM JULIE If you have decided on a small dog, are looking for a puppy to replace your lost or passed away dog or just need a companion we encourage you to look here among our wonderful puppies. I understand if your beloved dog has passed on and you need to fill that place in your heart. You may think that no one can ever replace your baby dog but I say to you don't deny yourself the love of a dog. We know the love of a dog. That's why we do what we do. It came up again today so I wrote this letter to someone who had lost their dog at only 8 years old...."you seem really broken upcan we do this on the phone...? if you're not up to that remember this.......there's a huuuuuge place there that needs love in it. You know that's all they really want - love - which makes this part of their lives so hard to bear. They don't have a mean bone in their bodies so it hurts extra.You give love to another dog because you hope it won't hurt quite so much and it helps. It really does. You miss her........and cry, and miss her and cry,and feel really sorry for yourself that you can't see her pretty eyes again.....but you have a comforter. And you start to accept and you find joy when you remember her life. It would be a shame for all the love to leave with her.So what will you do with it?Get some love. You want that same kind too. Always forgiving, always caring, always there for you.You need a dog. That will help with the pain.I have a hope in my heart......that God will let us have our dogs in heaven.He never really says that but he says He'll "give us the desires of our heart" and since He is who He is this would be totally possible for Him to do. So I never really believe they're gone for good.
