Etz Hayim is a resource for Christians who wish to enrich their Biblical studies through engagement with traditions and interpretations that have been transmitted and developed within the Jewish milieu. Etz Hayim is committed to promoting Christian-Jewish dialogue and understanding and suppporting a fraternal co-operation between Jews and Christians which from the Catholic perspective have been mandated by Vatican documents since the 2nd Vatican Council. Etz Hayim aims to enrich and inform teaching and learning for those in ministries, in educational leadership and teaching in dioceses, universities, and school settings. Etz Hayim is a Hebrew word which means "Tree of Life." The Bible is called the "Tree of Life" in the Book of Proverbs.
