Until 2013 I had mainly used a Canon EOS 7D with a range of lenses including the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM and the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. The acquisition in 2013 of a Fujifilm X100S totally changed my view on small cameras and photography … at the moment it’s all I use for 99% of the time. My first main project was 365 Days of Self Portraits. Each portrait was done on consecutive days and posted the same day to my Flickr account. Since then I’ve done a 52 Weeks of self portraits project which has now been finished and published on 365 Self Portraits … A second and third set of 52 Weeks were completed in 2011 and 2012. I have since produced a Black & White Still Life project (2013) and in 2014 portraits of my wife Jan produced with the Fujifilm X100S camera. I am a mother, a wife, and a photographer... in that order. ;) I love my family first and foremost. I am a jack of many trades, I love creating, everything - from beautiful images, to costumes, to yummy foods. I love my craft closet, (which is full of stuff I can use to make things for you session that will make it that much more interesting) I love my costume and prop collection, I love thrift stores and flea markets, and I love a good sale anywhere. I enjoy reading good long books as well as writing, (although life has seemed to push that pastime to the side for the most part) and I rarely ever watch TV. I enjoy the outdoors and sports, and when I get old I will be be an avid traveler. ;) The sky amazes me and I have recently began taking random photos of it (awesome for overlays)...., I would love to have a second house at the ocean. I have an obsession with dying my hair random colors dependent upon my mood, and lately am rarely seen without a bandana tied around my head. If asked about my favorite color, I would have to say that I love them all (which is reflected throughout the walls of my home) yet I always gravitate toward things that are black. I am inspired in one way or another by everything that I have ever seen or experienced. (good, bad, and ugly) I like to think that I am a very intelligent person, I have an extremely sarcastic sense of humor at times, and I truly enjoy people. I have a very good sense of style, although my clothing choices for myself may not always reflect that as I am often in a tank top and jeans. (That said, you will never catch me dead in "mom" jeans) I drive too fast, and love music....all genres, like in a "My name is Amanda and I must be schizophrenic due to my playlist" kind of way.... I am not a "professionally trained photographer" so I can show you no credentials aside from my portfolio, as I am completely self taught and expand on my creativity and knowledge whenever possible. I suppose we can call me an extremely passionate artist of the lens, eager to capture and create some fantastic images for you. We are each an unique work of art, I am here to make sure your portraits reflect just that. I can produce a perfectly beautiful image of you sooc (straight out of camera), although rarely will I ever be satisfied with leaving it at that. I would like to consider myself extremely versatile in the creativity department. I love to do themed shoots, and can create costumes as well as other items necessary to pull them off. I have an eye for location, and love and appreciate natural light and texture. I am slightly "edgy", and love to think outside of the box. While there is nothing "conservative" about my taste or personality, I am able to mold my creative juices to suit the situation. So, no matter if you are looking to push the boundaries, or stay comfortably, simply, and beautifully artistic I am the photographer for you. I can do it all. Salem Fellowship Church in Denton, NC...The Methodist Society established the congregation of Salem in 1818 in a small community called Farmer, North Carolina. In the beginning, the church met in Russell’s school house, a one room school, located up the road from the church site of today. In 1881, the second and current church sanctuary was constructed. Two Sunday school classes were added in 1953. In 2004, the sanctuary was updated. In 2006, a fellowship hall was added along with remodeled classrooms. In 2004 the congregation broke from the United Methodist Conference, becoming an independent fellowship. While the congregation’s heritage had grown out of the Methodist traditions, it was clear that God was leading us from the past into a more spiritually prosperous future. In 2012 Salem became affiliated with the Association of Independent Methodists (AIM) to be connected with other churches of like-minded faith, missions outreach and congregational support.
