After 30 years of either competitor or race committee member in sailing events, Parker figured it time she started recording the experience for enjoyment later. The switch from 35mm to digital brought about a new and different world of photography. Her shots have captured soaked racing jocks standing parallel to the waves on the edge of a sailboat; the ominous view of the Spirit of South Carolina tall ship as it passes under the Cooper River span; and colorful clusters of competitors that have come to Charleston from lands afar to test the Charleston currents. Her work has been featured in national sailing and boating publications, as well as local news media. The New Bern, NC native has become an indelible member of the Lowcountry sailing community as a member of the Charleston Ocean Racing Association, South Atlantic Yacht Racing Association, Charleston Yacht Club and volunteer with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Leukemia Cup Regatta and past volunteer for the Maritime Heritage Foundation. Her work speaks of her love for the sport and passion to immortalize the moment.

Having stayed at the Triangle T Guest Ranch in Texas Canyon, William Fulton fell in love with the area and bought up 1600 acres. The Connecticut couple had both turned 50; the kids were grown and they were looking for a second home in the sunny west. They set about building much more than that. Mrs. Fulton loved the American Quarter Horse and put their new FF Ranch to work raising the breed. Mr. Fulton loved the history, arts and cultures of Native American people. Seventy-years ago he created a nonprofit organization that he called the Amerind Foundation. The Fultons built a spacious museum in Texas Canyon, and there they assembled a beautiful collection of Native arts and crafts created by people from North, Central, and South America. Mr. Fulton pursued and funded archaeological research expeditions that shed light on the ancient peoples of Cochise County and northern Mexico. The Fultons passed on in the 1960s, but their legacy survives. The Amerind continues to display the fine arts and fine crafts of Native American people. The Fultons’ lovely museum brings 10,000 visitors a year to Dragoon and 800 school children from around Cochise County. The Amerind continues to support new research into the history of ancient people in North America and around the world.

Street Photography is about how you capture what’s around you, how confident you are as a person, how you handle peoples reactions when or after you take their photo. I know it seems scary but just go for it, but not everybody feels confident in public with a camera and taking pictures of people, you need basic knowledge, it’s like laying a foundation before we build a house, it's what makes it strong. Street Photography is not everyone's cup of tea, best to do it for yourself, fill your curiosity. You don’t have to be a serious Street Photographer, as long this genre makes you get up and get out, that’s great. I believe we only gain something from focussing on what we do and keep on trying. I never stop learning when doing Street, everything about it fascinates me, from the people, shadows, shapes, to en empty road. Since I started Street photography, I never get bored. I do Street everywhere, weekends, during holidays, days out with friends, in good weather or bad weather, in broad daylight or at night. The Street is available to everyone who’s willing to do it, 24/7. I started my workshops early in 2017, it’s my great pleasure to introduce Street Photography to others and keep motivating them afterwards. I am always pleased to discover that many of my workshop attendees actually have the skills and understanding but need advice and demonstrations to begin with. I regularly see my workshop attendees doing well after workshops, they start “seeing things” which is the hardest part in Street photography. They gain the confidence to go out and the most important thing is they enjoy it, they feel that Street Photography gives them something to look forward, to go outside and practice. I think that’s wonderful. During the workshops I demonstrate my skills by showing some of my images that I have taken over many years, I point out good subjects that I spot on the Street and give them the explanation and of course I make sure my attendees doing a lot of practising to gain their confidence. My advice to beginners is: Go out, make lots of mistakes and importantly, enjoy it!
