Domains associated with Literacy Bridge

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, envisages a Digital India to bridge the digital divide in our country and further promote digital literacy in order to make development a comprehensive mass movement and put governance within everyone’s reach in India. In order to work towards our PM’s vision, Rajkot Municipal Corporation, propose the Rajkot Smart City Hackathon 2017, a unique initiative to identify new and disruptive digital technology innovations for solving the challenges faced by our city. This initiative aim to institutionalize a model for harnessing the creativity and technical expertise of thousands of students for direct benefit of our city. Shri Banchha Nidhi Pani, Municipal Commissioner, Rajkot Municipal Corporation, Rajkot is the Chief Patron of this unique initiative, while Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology is the Knowledge Partner in the organizing committee of this initiative. Smart City Rajkot is co-organizers in this initiative.

The National Digital Inclusion Alliance is a unified voice for home broadband access, public broadband access, personal devices and local technology training and support programs. We work collaboratively to craft, identify and disseminate financial and operational resources for digital inclusion programs while serving as a bridge to policymakers and the general public.

Tech Exchange is dedicated to providing digital equity to residents across the East Bay. We offer free and low-cost computers to families and schools to help bridge the digital divide and promote responsible, green reuse.

Literacy Bridge saves lives and improves the livelihoods of impoverished families through comprehensive programs that provide on-demand access to locally relevant knowledge. At the heart of the programs is the Talking Book, an innovative low-cost audio computer.
