The gallery is focused on contemporary art of international relevance in all kinds of media. Founded in late 1999 as Ausstellungs- und Projektraum Maschenmode (founders: Guido W. Baudach, Martin Germann, Peter K. Koch). The name literally meaning was derived from the actual premises that formerly housed a knitwear store (East Berlin).
