Autour de Minuit is a film production company based in Paris created in 2001 by Nicolas Schmerkin. The company aims at supporting aesthetically innovative projects, and develops original graphic worlds with a solid content. Hybridization -at the heart of the artistic approach of most of the works born in the company- gives the opportunity to explore new ideas and sensations in plastic art and intent to provide with visuals never to be seen before. Since 2004, Autour de Minuit also deals with world distribution of animations and digital works. Nicolas Schmerkin received in Clermont-Ferrand 2006 the award for the best French producer of the year. Autour de Minuit est une société de production créée en 2001 par Nicolas Schmerkin afin de porter des projets esthétiquement novateurs et faisant appel aux nouvelles technologies, développant des univers graphiques inédits au service d’un contenu consistant. L’hybridation des techniques, des supports et des genres, au coeur de la démarche artistique de la plupart des oeuvres portées par la société, permet d’explorer des territoires plastiques et sensoriels encore vierges, afin d’offrir du «jamais-vu». Autour de Minuit se consacre également depuis 2004 à la distribution internationale de films d’animation et d’expérimentations digitales. Nicolas Schmerkin a obtenu en 2006 le Prix Procirep du meilleur producteur français de court métrage.
