The Hobson Cooperative School was founded in 1964 by a group of local parents who sought to provide a nurturing and creative nursery school experience for their children. In 1988 Hobson Cooperative School was the first preschool in Naperville to be awarded accreditation by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Hobson differs from most preschools in that it allows parents to have an active participation in their child's education by attending classes and class activities. The school also prides itself on its experienced-based learning programs, designed to encouraged students' growth and curiosity. Research proves that children learn more effectively through play, compared to the alternative of didactic teaching, which actually suppresses child-initiated learning and undermines young children’s self-confidence and motivation to learn. Studies show that play-based learning is a more effective platform for children’s long-term success in learning, or “school success.”

Wonderland Activities Center is designed to benefit both parents and children. Classes focus on education, action and creativity as a way of assisting children in exploring and understanding the world around them. Children will learn through hands-on activities and experiments. Children are encouraged to pretend, use their imaginations and be creative. Children will be encouraged to make friends and assisted with proper social behaviors. Wonderland Activities Center strives to meet the needs of parents by providing a variety of unique class options including varied lengths, ages and themes; as well as drop-off or parent participation classes.
