Every year, from late July through to 15 August, a giant marquee that seats 6,000 is set up on the village’s sports field. Each night the venue welcomes thousands of visitors who come together to celebrate the joys of music. This amazing event is JAZZ in MARCIAC. Founded in 1978, this unique festival is now a world-renowned happening. As its long-time fans know well, Jazz in Marciac is much more than the summer festival. Its continued development has most recently been crowned with the opening of a magnificent 500-seat concert hall that welcomes audiences year round for jazz concerts, but also performances in a wide range of artistic disciplines. The venue has been dubbed “L’Astrada”, the Occitan word for “destiny”.
