How do we experience the transparency of the photographic medium? What it is like to stare at transparency? Are all of us capable of seeing transparency or many observers just note that pictures look “realistic”? Is it the realism of the image in relation to human perception or the realism of the image in relation to camera obscura phenomena? Does large format camera and silver emulsion increase the transparency and penetrates the person in frame in a specific way? Collodion process is extremely delicate, the unavoidable defects are part of its specifics and show the unique character of each photo. The suggestion of emergence and immersion of the image are very essential for the process, the image seems as if moving in a thick layer of emulsion. Inspired by these essentials “Levels of Transparency” are divided in two parts – the initial plates present classical portraits with insignificant or small imperfections and the secondary plates present portraits “disturbed” with intentional chemical interventions, stopping the emergence or transforming the image.

Welcome! Rudebwoy Photos is created by me, David A. Thomas, and is a collection of my photographic work. I’ve been playing with photography for a while now....since I was a teenager! When the digital revolution started, I got immediately hooked. Got my first digital camera in 2001, then graduated to a Nikon D70 in 2005. I’ve just gotten the D700 and loving shooting with it!!!! Action shots are my favorite, but I am really enjoying night photography. Being from the Caribbean (Br. Virgin Islands) my country is my canvas. I am a professional....my goal is to shoot the best picture possible so not to have to do any post processing. But when I do post process, I’ve taken a liking to Lightroom2 and Photoshop CS3. I am grateful to all of the people that I have met and received tips from over the years, and as a student of the game I am continually learning!! Max Leitner, Photographer,  Grown up in Germany, Max, early on, developed the love for photography. Throughout the past decade he has traveled the United Stated and resided Chicago, where he predominately focussed on trends in urban exploring and lifestyle. From the very beginning Max was able to utilize photography as a facilitator for creative ideas, reaching from studio to documentary photography. Partaking in a visual society, the camera allowed him to access places and events that are exclusive to limited access. The photographic process has defined his identity and every day life. While photography allowed him to interact with many creatives across several fields of visual and performing arts, he has developed many close friendships to rely on in life and collaborative environments.  As of May 2016 Max is parting way with the United States and is focussed on projects and portfolio development throughout Europe and Asia. Max is on the continual search for extraordinary locations and their visual representation, he will continue to photograph the commonly inaccessible spaces and places. 2016 Max received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
