The ORDO is an NGO registered in 1984 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The ORDO was established under the inspiration of the depressed tribal communities, and it aims to improve the quality of life of the tribal poor in the hill areas through rural reconstruction, conservation of biodiversity and regeneration of the degraded environment and ecosystems.

They receive little or no attention from local, state and national governments. They are deprived of education, healthcare, basic amenities and economic development. HRDS has drawn up several projects for tribal welfare. The objective of these projects is the total development of the tribal communities by providing them shelter, food, clothing, medical care and education. Mobile healthcare camps will form part of the programmes. Hrds India charitable society donates school uniforms, study materials and umbrellas to students from poor families.
