The objective of these projects is the total development of the tribal communities by providing them shelter, food, clothing, medical care and education. Mobile healthcare camps will form part of the programmes. Hrds India charitable society donates school uniforms, study materials and umbrellas to students from poor families.

The Social Welfare Department initiates and implements welfare programmes and services for women in need and distress, differently abled and mentally challenged persons, women and children, destitutes, orphans and neglected street children, and provides social security for the aged and destitute through a network of organisations, residential institutions and non-institutional schemes. The Social Welfare Department also ensures proper implementation of important welfare legislations such as the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000; the Dowry Prohibition Act 1958 ; the Probation of Offender’s Act; the Domestic Violence Act 2005; and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1986; and Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act 2007 through the Social Welfare Directorate.
